Mr. Matthew Lindemann, a registered CPA and certified fraud examiner, has been a partner with the accounting firm of Wojeski and Company, LLP since 1999. The firm currently employs thirty-five and hasaffiliate offices in several states. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, NYS Society of CPAs, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the Association of Government Accountants. He has served as a member of the East Greenbush Central School District Finance Committeefor the past five years, providing budgetary review and recommendations. Through the firm, he is active in CONCERNS-U, which provides a myriad of services to members of our community in need, especially children. He has extensive experience in coaching and managing teams in youth league sports in East Greenbush.Mr. Lindemann and his wife, Kathy, have three children— Megan, Stevie and Julia—who attend East Greenbush schools.
A 1986 graduate of Columbia High School, Mr. Lindemann began his post-secondary career in earnest. After graduating from LeMoyne College in 1990 with a B.S. in accounting, Mr. Lindemann found a career right in his hometown. His rewarding career has been distinguished by his commitment to his clients in a variety of capacities and the subsequent growth of Wojeski and Company, LLC. In 1993, he began working with Dave Wojeski; at the time, they were the only employees in the East Greenbush office. In his career, Mr. Lindemann’s expertise has allowed businesses to grow and thrive by making sounding decisions and avoiding costly mistakes. He is also responsible for devising and implementing tax savings strategies for the firm’s closely held businesses and their owners, and ensuring year-end tax compliance. As a senior audit partner, he supervises audit and attest engagements and provides consulting and business advice on financial and operational issues for those entities. As a certified fraud examiner, he investigates the performance of forensic accounting exercises, including the development of and/ or reconstruction of financial statements and profiles of entities based on their financial and business data. Mr. Lindemann is recognized for his work as an expert witness in forensic accounting in United States Bankruptcy Court and the New York State Supreme Court.
Community involvement has been a hallmark of Mr. Lindemann’s life. He and the staff of Wojeski and Company have organized CONCERNS-U, an annual holiday event that benefits those in need from Schodack. East Greenbush, Rensselaer, Nassau, and Sand Lake. A love of sports has informed his life as well. For over ten years, Mr. Lindemann has laced up his sneakers to play in the annual Teachers vs. Community basketball fundraiser for the district. Prior to his current managerial position with the U15 Girls East Greenbush Youth Soccer League team, Mr. Lindemann was an assistant baseball coach with the East Greenbush Little League from 2006-2011, the Sorensco Babe Ruth baseball team from 2012-13, and the Devils Cats baseball team in 2014. He also served as an assistant coach for several Pop Warner football teams for over five years in East Greenbush.
